Hey there friends, i’m
Numa, and i’m kulla, we are Australian dwarf spiny-tailed
monitors
Our names come from the Australian aboriginal sky gods Numakulla
who created all life, including humans, when this was done
they turned into lizards!
Where we come from in Australia we like to live on rocks, if we feel scared
or something tries to eat us, we can run into a gap in the rocks and hold ourselves
in tightly with our spiny tails.
We’re pretty energetic and spend all day running around looking for tasty
bugs to eat, exploring our surroundings, wrestling with each other and getting
into mischief!

Hi, my name is galad and i'm
glad to meet you, I am a leopard gecko, bet you can't guess
why i'm called that!
Us leo's as we like to be called are from the Middle East
mainly, Afganistan, Pakistan, and india. We like the dry
semi-desert habitats here.
I am quite a large leopard gecko and measure just under
30cm.
I am definately a carnivore, infact i'm more of an insectivore
which means I only eat, yep you've guessed it insects, I
definately don't like greens yuk!
Sometimes insects can be hard to come by in the desert so
when there are plenty around to eat I get a very fat tail,
then when I can't find any insects my tail fat store keeps
me going!

Nice to meet you, my name is
Echo..echo and I am an African fat-tailed gecko..gecko..
If you’ve already met Galad, you’ll notice we look a bit
similar, well that’s because he’s a sort of cousin of mine
as we belong to the same family. Our family has lots of different types
of gecko and what makes us special is that we all have eyelids and can’t
climb up walls; all the other gecko families don’t have eyelids
but do have special toes that let them climb around on walls and ceilings.
Even though we come from different countries, Leopard geckos still have
a lot in common with fat tailed geckos, we all eat the same things and
all use our tails as a food reserve.
I ‘m very proud of my crisp white stripe, not all fat-tailed geckos
have them you know!

Hellosss to you ss, my name
is ssssssam and i'm a royal python
I come from Africa, where I like to spend most of my time
curled up in a nice tight burrow, which I usually borrow
from a mammal that has dug it but then moved out.
I am a female and may grow to 180cm, male royal pythons
are typically smaller and only reach 120cm.
I am a carnivore which means that I only eat meat, my
favorite prey are rodents and especially rats. I am a constrictor
which means that in order to subdue and kill my prey I
ssssqueeze it before sssswallowing!
Swallowing large rodents is my sssspeciality infact, and
I can swallow something many times the size of my head!
but don't worry I won't bite, as long as you don't smell
like a rat that is!

Good'ay mates i'm Tilq and I am
a blue-tongued skink!
Along with my close relatives, who are all different types of
blue tongued skink I come from Australia and a wounderful island
North of Australia called Papua New Guinea.
I can grow to be 50cm long,
I am an omnivore, which means I can eat vegetables, plants,
meat and insects. I love sweet fruit like bannana but too much
is bad for me! so I only get it as a treat.
I love to dig and hide in burrows but I also like to bask in
the sun and warm myself up so that I can be active and forage
for tasty treats.

Greetingsssss, I am oliver and I
am a corn sssssnake.
I come from North America where I have
a wide range in the South and South West.
I am a male and will probably reach around 150cm in length,
did you know that snakes never really stop growing, we just slow
down a lot as we get older! all snakes, because we keep growing
need to slough our skin, this literaly means that we outgrow
it and so have to crawl out of it! Fortunately by the time the
old skin needs to go we have a brand new shiny one grown ready
underneath.
like my good friend Sam the python who you have probably already
met, I am a constricting snake and like to eat rodents.
If you've ever noticed that us snakes always flick our tongues
in and out, and woundered why, it's because this is our best
way to sense whats going on around us; Infact we are tasting
the air to see our way, find food and avoid predators.

Hi sss, my name'ssss Hogbert I'm
a Wesssstern hognossse ssssnake, from America. When you meet me, have a close look at my nose and you'll see
why I'm called a hognose snake. My pointy upturned nose helps me
to bury into the loose sandy soil, this way I can hide with just
my eyes peering out and when a small mouse or toad comes close
enough I can leap out and make a tasty meal of them!
As I'm a boy I'm only a small snake and won't get much longer
than 50cm, girl hognose snakes can be almost twice as big.
Being only small I have a very theatrical way of defending myself,
if something tries to eat me I role on my back and hang my tongue
out pretending to be dead, to finish the act I also release a horrible
smell, who'd want to eat me then!

How do you do, I'm Ssssmokey
and I'm an Albino bull sssnake from North America.
As you can see, I'm really bright in colour and have red eyes,
this is because I'm Albino, bull snakes are normally much darker
in colour with a brown and black pattern but I'm special!
I'm one of the largest snakes of my type in the world and when
I'm fully grown I may be more than 2.5 meters in length!
My favourite food is mice and rats, I can eat realy big ones,
in fact I can eat a rat so big that it would be like one of you
humans eating a rugby ball whole!
Bull snakes are found living in the same habitat as dangerous
rattle snakes in the wild, bull snakes look a lot like rattle snakes
which means that most things leave us alone just in case we are
one; also if we are threatened we shake our tails realy
fast against a rock or log to make a sound like a rattle snake!
